At Kennebec Eye Care we specialize in fitting a broad spectrum of contact lenses to fit the individual patient. During an annual contact lens exam, the doctor evaluates the proper fit to ensure good health and comfort. They will discuss your options and wearing schedule (i.e. daily, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) to determine what is best for your lifestyle. There are many lenses designed to enhance vision by accommodating astigmatism or even multifocal, to improve the ability to read. Cosmetic lenses are also available to change or enhance your natural eye color.
Prescriptions are only valid for one year after comprehensive eye exam. There is an annual evaluation fee not covered by insurance that must be paid on the day of your visit. Some insurance providers only cover your preventive eye exam every two years. Kennebec Eye Care provides an off year contact lens evaluation option to renew the prescription. Please contact the office for pricing.
Schedule your eye exam today! The doctor will evaluate you for contacts during your initial exam. Once you discuss your options, the doctor will work with you to pick the best lens for you. A personal training session by our contact lens technician will be scheduled at your convenience.
Personal Training Session:
One of our highly-trained contact lens experts will sit down and go over everything you need to know about wearing contacts. The instruction includes insertion and removal of contacts, and education on care and maintenance of lenses. Patients will also briefly see the doctor to ensure proper fit and vision. If successful, you will leave that day wearing contacts, and only have to return for a brief check-up.
The start-up process is usually 2-3 visits and prices vary depending on the type of contact and insurance.

Manufacturer rebates available on some brands with purchase of year supply. Rebate must be mailed in by patient and is usually sent to you in 6-8 weeks.
Kennebec Eye Care will exchange unopened boxes towards your next order. Boxes cannot be written on or opened, and must be within 24 months of expiration. Not all lenses can be returned. If you have questions bring them in or call the office and speak with the contact lens technician.
